ROMNEY — All horses seized from Cameron R. Kerns and Cynthia Shrout have been adopted out, said Hampshire County Sheriff Nathan Sions.

Sions said the horses were sold for $250 per head.

Total expenditures are $7,866.05, which includes hauling the horses, boarding fees, medication for rain rot, feed, veterinarian bills and supplies.

“The horses were sold for a total of $5,250,” Sions said.

Sions said in accordance with state law Kerns and Shrout are responsible for paying the county for the difference of $2,616.05.

The sheriff’s office currently has seven active arrest warrants against Shrout charging her with animal cruelty.

“If anyone knows of her whereabouts we request you call the sheriff’s office at 304-822-3894,” said Sions.

Sions said Shrout has been put on the national database for wanted persons so that all law enforcement agencies across the country have access.
