Put Extra Consideration into Listings’ Profile Photos

That property photo you choose for the profile of your listing is critical. A blurry photo — or no photo at all — may translate into fewer clicks for your listing online and, ultimately, fewer showings.
“As an agent you have to assume that this is the first image a potential buyer sees and the hook to getting them to read more about your listing,” writes Pauline Perenack, marketing manager with RES.Net, in an article at RISMedia. “With this in mind, you have to ask yourself: Why would any agent choose to include an image of a tree to accompany their listing? Or even worse, no image at all? You want to make sure the profile image is so engaging that people wouldn’t even think of skipping over your listing.”
The profile picture needs to welcome buyers. The better the photo, the more people will want to see the home in person.
As such, Perenack suggests using the profile photo to show off the front of the house because that’s what most people will want to see first. Avoid close-up shots of the exterior or yard details as your profile photo.
Also, if no one is clicking on your listing, ask yourself: Is the profile photo good enough?
